Lizzo is spot on here. Social media is where most digital marketing happens, and the pivot from chronological feeds to algorithmic has massively impacted an artist’s ability to reach and leverage their audience. Even if you boost a post, followers aren’t seeing it.

Social media marketing IS the job. Why would they go on social media and show grueling spreadsheet slogs or sad desk lunches, when that would be a negative for their brand, and “fun and light” is what sells skincare?
